This is the area the animals gain entry into the attic space from. The attic has plenty of ventilation from gable vents, ridge vents, and most even have automatic electric fans or turbine ventilation pipes. This gap seems to be on most homes we inspect in Ga but not all. And it is what has put every nuisance wildlife company in Ga in business.
Sealing up this gap was big business for a long time in Georgia. And will be for a long time to come homes are being built with the feature everyday. How this gap is sealed up has been addressed by many methods over the years by many different companies. Finding out your home has the construction gap is a bad feeling. And even worse after you call in a few companies and find out it is going to cost thousands of dollars to correct just to keep animals out of your home.
I’m not going to lie to you and tell you we will give you the cheapest estimate on the market. We have took a very large step down on our price structure due to the economy and so many people being out of work. But I can tell you we will be here when you need us the most.
And before you decide what company is going to close up your construction gap you will have a wide variety of warranties to choose from. Some offer as little as 90 day warranties while others offer a lifetime warranty. Looking at how long the company has been in business is one thing. And with the way the economy is going one of the best things to do because this past summer we received many calls from people who found out the company that sealed up there home went out of business. And in there hand they held these lifetime warranties that ended when that company folded up. When fuel hit up around $5.00 a gallon these companies had little choice.
Sealing this gap has been approached with aluminum flashing by some companies in the past. And that failed and put those companies out of business in the long run. One company about 10 years ago was selling a system where they foamed up the gap. And it was so much cheaper then sealing it up with metal. But it only lasted about a month or two and the animals would chew straight threw the foam. They folded up and left customers hanging. One guy tried selling aluminum gutter guards and said they would keep animals out of the attic. When his customers started calling him back with animals in the attic they were quickly told he never gave them any type of a guarantee on the animal part.
The only material we have found that works is galvanized steel. And our system has been tested for the past 11 years and found to do the job better than any other material.
